Measurement of Magnetic Cavitation Driven by Heat Flow in a Plasma

چکیده

We describe the direct measurement of expulsion a magnetic field from plasma driven by heat flow. Using laser to column gas within an applied field, we isolate Nernst advection and show how it changes over nanosecond timescale. Reconstruction map proton radiographs demonstrates that is advected flow in advance expansion with velocity ${v}_{N}=(6\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}2)\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}{10}^{5}\text{ }\text{ }\mathrm{m}/\mathrm{s}$. Kinetic extended magnetohydrodynamic simulations agree well this regime due buildup transport barrier.

Particle in Cell-Monte Carlo Collisions of a Plasma Column Driven by Surface Wave Plasma Discharges

In this work, applicability of Particle in Cell-Monte Carlo Collisions (PIC-MCC) simulation method for better understanding of the plasma physical mechanisms and real important aspects of a plasma column driven by surface wave plasma discharges that is used in plasma antennas is examined. Via the implementation of geometry and physical parameters of the plasma column to an Object Oriented PIC-M...

Optimizing naturally driven air flow in a vertical pipe by changing the intensity and location of the wall heat flux

Heat transfer from the internal surfaces of a vertical pipe to the adjacent air gives rise to the air flow establishment within the pipe. With the aim of optimizing the convective air flow rate in a vertical pipe, the details of the flow and thermal fields were investigated in the present study. Conservation equations of mass, momentum, and energy were solved numerically using simple implicit f...

Numerical Study of Flow and Heat Transfer in a Square Driven Cavity

A numerical approach called “SIMPLER” is used to investigate the  flow and heat transfer characteristics in a square driven cavity. The two-dimensional incompressible Navier-Stokes equations were solved and the results are depicted as contour plots of stream function, vorticity, and total pressure for Reynolds numbers from 1 to 10000. At the higher values of Reynolds number, an inviscid core re...

Investigation of the Flow and Cavitation in a Butterfly Valve

Since knowledge on hydrodynamic torque of a butterfly valve is very important for butterfly valve design, its hydrodynamic torque is investigated in this paper. In reality, the investigation of the loss coefficient and torque from some experiments will take a long time and a lot of money. This paper presents a statistical study of the flow past the butterfly valve in a static analysis using com...

Study of Chemically Reactive Flow and Heat Transfer in the Presence of a Uniform Magnetic Field

The effects of chemical reaction, thermal stratification, Soret and Dufour numbers on magneto-hydrodynamic free convective heat and mass transfer of a viscous, incompressible, and electrically conducting fluid on a vertical stretching surface embedded in a saturated porous medium are presented. A similarity transform is used to reduce the governing partial differential equations into a syste...
